Abstract
We experienced a case of free vascularized joint transfer for the reconstruction of the metacarpophalangeal joint of the right index finger that was distracted with the loss of dorsal skin and extensor tendons. The distracted part of finger was replaced with the metatarsophalangeal joint of the second toe by the microsurgical technique.
We reviewed the surgical technique of successful! joint transfer. So we consider the replacement of the damaged finger joint by a free vascularized autogenous joint transferred by microsurgical technique can offer the best chance for restored function and retained growth.
